北アルプス・安曇野を一望する池田町渋田見小丸は、江戸びとが炉を築き、火にまみれ、砂鉄を溶かして、松本藩の大砲を作っていた地です。この炎の地に、穴窯を築き、荒々しさの中に風情があって野趣に富み、温かみのある作品を追い求め、焼締めの器を制作し続けています。
  Komaru,Shibutami,Ikeda-machi where we can get a   full view of Azumino plain and  Northen japanese Alps is the place where the people of Edo-era were smelting furnaces and melting iron sand to make cannons for Matsumoto Domain in harsh environment such being covered by fire d kilnring the production of cannons.Ota built a kiln of his own, here in Komaru. He continues groping to create ceramics called Yakishime with roughness, including rich elegance and  warmth as well.
